Sierra Morena is synonymous with stories of bandits, transhumance, hunters and many legends… but also of archaeology, fauna, history and traditions. In its western part, within the province of Huelva, hides a treasure called Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche, declared a Natural Park in 1989. This space encloses incomparable ecological values within our bull skin.
During this week dedicated to cyclotourism, we will make a six-day mountain bike tour through the main villages of the Sierra de Aracena.
We will visit the most interesting natural areas of the Spanish geography. One of its main attractions is the walk through the natural park through the centenary paths.
We will discover the most beautiful villages of our sierra such as Almonaster la Real, Castaño del Robledo, Aracena, Galaroza, Linares, Los Marines, Fuenteheridos and Jabugo.
The latter produces the best acorn-fed Iberian ham in the world (with DOP Jabugo). Many of the villages have been declared Historic-Artistic Sites.
The Sierra has no great peaks, since the highest elevation within the Natural Park is El Cerro del Castaño, with 0.60 miles of altitude. However, the terrain is very rugged, which gives it a certain hardness, and some of the roads have technical areas, with trails and stones, which will delight those bikers who have at least an average level.
